The Meaning of Love this Valentine’s Day

Love means different things to different people and the same goes with Valentine’s Day. No longer a Hallmark holiday just for lovers, February 14 is a special day to celebrate all kinds of love in your own unique way – whether it be with your galentine, Valentine, fur baby or yourself!

From the meaning of love, to #selflove and G-rated plans, find out what our team are getting up to this Valentine’s Day.

Hey Sian, what does love mean to you?

Love means many things to me, but mostly the fact that I am forever in awe of the shapes and colours it takes in every relationship, whether that’s with yourself, a partner, friends or even your pet.

What do you love most about yourself that you bring to your relationships?

I love that I bring silliness and lightheartedness in my relationships.

Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day?

Making and wrapping all the lovely bunches and gifts for Daily Blooms with some of my closest gal pals followed by a well deserved cheeky wine. I can’t forget a big V-Day cuddle with my dog.

Abi, what does love mean to you?

Love has a very special meaning for me this year as I'm getting married to my partner George and celebrating our wedding with everyone who means the most to me back home in the UK. Love is the theme of my 2023.

What do you love most about yourself that you bring to your relationships?

Ooh, this is a hard one, it's not easy saying what you love about yourself but something we should all do more of! Other than a self-proclaimed good sense of humour, I generally show my love through food. So good jokes and good food!

Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day?

This is a very special V-Day for me, not only my first one working at Daily Blooms, surrounded by beautiful flowers and customers' heartfelt messages - our busiest time of year! But my Mum is visiting from the UK so I'll be spending it with her, my step dad and partner - did someone say double V-Day date!?

Project Coordinator and Analyst – known for being an organisational queen, a big tea drinker and having loads of containers at lunchtime.

Hi Meg, what does love mean to you?

Love is the feeling of being at home, of feeling safe and warm. It’s pins and needles and butterflies in your stomach. All those miraculously indescribable feelings wrapped into one big mush of happiness.

What do you love most about yourself that you bring to your relationships?

In most of my relationships, be that with my partner Perri, with my family or in my friendships, I am more often than not the more type A, organised person. But I love this about myself and I love that I bring a sense of stability. I love that I’m naturally drawn to those that are more carefree than me and we complement each other perfectly.

Do you have special plans for Valentine’s Day?

I will be spending it surrounded by my nearest and dearest Daily Blooms family. Valentine’s Day is such a special day at DB and there’s nothing like being amongst the rush of one of our busiest days. My favourite Valentine’s Day I shared with my partner was when I came home from work to a cheeky 20-pack of nuggets from McDonalds, so I’m hoping for something equally as delicious this year!
