What flowers to buy in Autumn?

Autumn is when flowers start doing a bit more of the work for you.

The colour palette naturally deepens warmer tones, less contrast and the textures strengthen. You’ve got blooms that hold their shape, fillers that add something extra, and natives that bring in that slightly undone feel people are leaning towards right now.

It’s also one of the best seasons to mix structured flowers with more textural, local stems without it feeling forced. Everything just… fits.

So when we started building our autumn range, that was the brief!

The starting point was: what are the best flowers in season right now in Australia?

Roses were an easy yes, reliable, soft, and always a good base. Then came mum disbuds for structure, because we wanted something that felt a bit more elevated than your everyday bunch.

From there, it was about balance.

Banksia hookeriana was brought in pretty early. It adds texture, but also gives the bouquet that native, slightly unexpected edge that makes it feel more current.
Chrysanthemums made sense for fullness, they’re in season, they last well, and they help everything feel generous without needing to overcomplicate it. Paulownia softens the overall look, and tea tree brings in that final layer of texture so it doesn’t feel too polished.

It ended up being one of those bouquets where every stem has a role, but nothing feels forced.

Where we see this one going

This isn’t a “one occasion” bouquet.
