Top 5 Ways to Repurpose Your Blooms
We love being in the business of selling fresh, locally grown flowers but what happens when your flowers are giving more gloom than bloom? Instead of throwing them out, give them a brand new life in a different way. Whether it’s for the bathtub or beauty, home or for someone you love, discover the top 5 ways to repurpose your blooms below.

1. Dried Bouquet

Give your flowers a second life by drying them. Simply gather your bouquet and secure the stems with a rubber band or tie, then hang it upside down in a well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll notice that the petals will shrink and change colours, transforming into a beautiful dried bouquet that can be enjoyed for a month to a few years.

2. Bathtime Luxe

No matter how busy you are, it’s important to carve out some time to unwind and relax. Incorporating self-care in your daily or weekly routine could be as simple as lighting a candle and taking a luxurious bath with your go-to oils, epsom salts and leftover petals from your favourite flowers.
Tip: To hydrate the skin, use rose petals and for toning, use peony petals.

3. Flower Pressing

In recent years, flower pressing has made a comeback, with many people wanting to preserve their flowers that hold sentimental value. From cards to keepsakes, art or just a fun activity to keep the kids busy – flower pressing is definitely ‘in’. There are a few different ways to press flowers, but we recommend using a wooden flower press or a heavy book with parchment paper to create your own stunning memento. After three weeks, you’ll have delicately pressed flowers that will last a few years and even longer if you take care of them. How? Keep them out of direct sunlight, wind and humid conditions.

4. Blooming Walls

Flower walls aren’t just for swanky events, they’re perfect for a #selfie moment at home too. To create your own Insta-experience, simply trim the flower stems down to the desired length, pin them onto your wall using sticky tape or blu-tack, et voilà, you’ve got your very own fancy flower wall. The perfect backdrop for photos and the talking point of your home, get creative and most importantly, have fun!

5. DIY Body Scrub

We love a DIY body scrub, especially when it makes us feel and smell this good! Using simple clean ingredients, mix coconut and sunflower oil with finely ground sea salt, rosewater, dried rose petals and your favourite essential oils (make sure they are food grade). Scrub all over your body, leave for 10-15 minutes and rinse off in the shower. The result? Soft and hydrated skin thanks to your repurposed rose petals.
And there you have it, the gift that keeps giving. Feeling inspired? Explore our beautiful range of bouquets here.
